There is no hard fast process.. but per Johnlok and Sean the general "guidelines" are as follows:

* Show a consistent posting demeanor which is mature, friendly, helpful, and civil.

* Avoid flaming, arguments, and hostility toward other board members. (This doesn't mean you need to be captain agreeable, but it does mean showing some restraint against name-calling, profanity, rudeness, and other aggressive behaviors.)



Bonus points: (not necessary but helpful)

* Having active blogs, FAQ's, or creative dialogue outside of the normal everyday chatter. For example, several users have created FAQ's in the Community Hits area.

* Having posts/threads that really stand out--for being funny, intillegent, insightful, etc.





Basically in a nutshell: post regularly, be friendly, and do something "standout-ish" in a positive way.
