How Long Until You Personally Give Up On Rock Band?

So there's been lots of talk about people bailing.

This forum has pretty much turned into a gang war. The fanboys who will stick by RB's side no matter what, and the radicals who threaten to bail everyday.

    Pros
    Amazing Game
    Party Game
    Awesome Soundtrack
    Decent Online Play
    (could use some work IMO)
    Tons of Weekly DLC
Currently Only Game with Drum Periph

    Cons
Horrible Periphs(most... I know some say 'MINES PERFECT' and all that jazz)
    60 Day Warranty Bust
    No Information on Future
    No BWT Online
    GH:WT = Bigger Franchise
    (could be better...?)

Don't throw me under the bus for this. I will be getting GH:WT only for the sake that it can't be much worse than Rock Band and it'll have a few new tracks a new drum layout....

Just trying to get an idea of where us forum-ers stand... maybe give HMX an idea of what their die hard fans feel like.

I'll probably stay with it as a party game with the party songs, but as for real popular music, GH:WT.

For me, Rock Band's a slow but steady source of entertainment. I'm one of those who falls into the "niche" category (meaning, I happen to like getting obscure artists as DLC) and I don't rely on Rock Band as my only source of entertainment, just one of occasional indulgence and a way to get to know music better without having to play it on a real instrument (for the record, I do play piano and guitar, but playing along with a tab of a song is different than playing/singing along with the track itself [in other words, I like sheet music but often sheet music is more expensive that the music itself]).

Even if I was one of the unfortunate few who have mastered every song on every instrument on every difficulty level and are thus bored with Rock Band, I'd refuse to go to Guitar Hero IV on general principal. I don't care how sturdy the drums are, the art style's still horrendous and the company can't hold a candle to the steady stream of DLC.

So, in other words, I chose Rock Band for a purpose and I'm sticking to it because I believe in it as a platform and I see it as an example of passion and taste in an industry known for being devoid of both.

P.S. It's also worth mentioning that my peripherals work well. I RMA'd my first guitar, lived without it for a week, and everything's been peachy keen since.

I don't take sides, if GH:A/WT/M are fun then I'll play them as much as I do Rock Band (GHIII was not that great to me). Hell sometimes I'll pop in the GHII disc for kicks (speaking of which, GHII songs in RB = win). I'll only "give up" on Rock Band when it stops being fun, which will probably be never.

I think your poll options are weak. Next week, next month, GH:WT, or "always!"?

How about until "Rock Band 2" comes out? Or until there isn't weekly dlc? Or through next Christmas?

Or until I meet personal goals, like reaching 11 million career score? Or until I can consistently beat every song on expert for all three peripherals?

It's been 5 months and because of dlc I still have only barely broken the first two tiers for both guitar and vocals.

Even after GH:WT come out and Rock Band 2 come out I'll still probably play some RB. I'll be like, "Hmm, I wanna play that song" and I'll insert whichever disc for whichever game that song happens to be on.

they may have cooler looking (but less functional) drums, but i think rb will win this because software and presentation on rb have pretty much killed everything neversoft has ever put out.

My question is this. Why not just stop playing or whatever and go back to your GH collection until GH WT comes out? Why do you continue to whine about it? Is it because you feel that GH:Wt is actually going to suck and you wish Harmonix was doing it? Because lets face it, Harmonix are the guys that made so far the only good versions of Guitar Hero. I cannot imagine how bad Neversoft will be at drums if they couldn't even handle the guitar. I have no faith in them. I also do not like the idea that GH will be putting out a game every 3 months. That cannot lead to them giving you much DLC at all and it's likely that once the new game is out the old one will not be supported. As in NO PATCHES or UPDATES.

Otherwise you must just be seeking attention.

I'm one of the folks who will be waiting it out until the last minute. We've not had anything about RB2 officially confirmed by HMX (have we?), and we've not even seen videos of GH:WT's features in use. I have to admit, though, unless GH: WT does something that absoltely blows me away, I'll probably be sticking with HMX.
They say people don't believe in heroes anymore.
