Yeah the original list was pretty slanted to metal.

Might be nice to have a different version for non-metal to include some of those mentioned: Steve Perry, Morrissey, Hutchence, plus a variety of others: Cyndi Lauper, Martha Davis (of the Motels), Prince, and some others that will undoubtedly cause a lot of controversy -- Bono, Sting, Springsteen.

Also -- what do you do about some of the greats who were continuing to work in the 80s, for example Freddie Mercury (altho' his best was probably behind him at that point) or Steve Winwood who had a major career revitalization during the 80's. And remember Roy Orbison was active with the Traveling Wilburys at the end of the 80s.
