The thing with some bands is that some of the "greatest hits" aren't really the greatest songs the band has put out, or wouldn't be as fun as some of their more obscure tracks. Putting an album out not only means you get the well-known tracks off the album, but some potentially better songs that you would've overlooked because they aren't popular.

Holy War and Evangeline would be effing sweet to have on Rock Band.

Man, those were two of the songs I was thinking would make sweet RB songs.

What I've been seeing lately is RB is becoming more and more "niche" market and less and less mainstream. While RB has opened my eyes to bands I'd never heard of before and I thank them for that. Mass market appeal is what is needed in a "party game". Instantly recognizable music. Wether thats classic rock 80's , 90's whatever.

Now don't get me wrong I love Rush, saw them in concert last month. Their first trip back to Winnipeg in 25 years. I'm just saying that rather then full album dlc i think "greatest hits" packages would be more interesting. Ya know all thriller no filler.

While were on the topic of Canadian dlc heres my two cents.

"Oh what a feeling" by Crowbar
"You could have been a lady" by April Wine
"Takin Care of Business" by BTO
"Raise a little hell" by Trooper
The point of full albums is to get out the deep cuts that are:
    a) More fun to play than the commercially known stuff. Commercially successful singles are not chosen for their complexity, they're chosen for simplicity. Have you heard of the phrase appeal to the lowest common denominator? That's what happens here.

    b) Appeal to fans of that band and introduce others to music by a band that they may not have heard.

Mainstream stuff is necessary, but should not be focused upon exclusively, otherwise you would be missing A LOT of great and fun songs for the game. That's why albums are necessary.

Furthermore, people anymore listen to music as singles. It seems that barely anyone anymore, except us old folks, sit down and listen to an album from front to back. Albums are painstakingly created to create the maximum effect when listening to them. If you just pick songs out at random and throw them all together, it kind of destroys that piece of work. Now, I know that there is no current way to play entire albums back to back in the game YET (guarenteed this is coming in RB2) but the fact of the matter is I can sit down and play "Screaming For Vengeance", "The Cars" and "Doolittle" in one sitting if I so chose.

If Jimmy is to do more songs for RB, which I sincerely hope he does, would HMX PLEEEEEEASE request for him to sing the songs with more energy as he does with his live shows, and to check the audio quality of the tracks before release.

I am a huge JB fan, however, when playing the 3 songs in RB, there is a noticed difference in audio quality with his songs vs. the other songs in the game. Jimmy's songs sound muffled, and the vocal track just doesn't seem like he's putting much energy into the songs.

Personally, I would like to see his songs presented in the same tone and energy as he has on his live albums!!!!!!
