Well...I can at least confrim that Game informer does say it since I have the issue in my hands. Heh.
I cannot vouch for the veracity of their claims.

Someone please explain to me why all the excitement over full album dlc? Personally speaking, rather then have a Rush album wouldn't it be more interesting to buy some "greatest hits" dlc? This would be a win/win situation. Said bands fans get what they want and maybe just maybe others would give it a try because of hearing those tunes from the radio.
What I've been seeing lately is RB is becoming more and more "niche" market and less and less mainstream. While RB has opened my eyes to bands I'd never heard of before and I thank them for that. Mass market appeal is what is needed in a "party game". Instantly recognizable music. Wether thats classic rock 80's , 90's whatever.
Now don't get me wrong I love Rush, saw them in concert last month. Their first trip back to Winnipeg in 25 years. I'm just saying that rather then full album dlc i think "greatest hits" packages would be more interesting. Ya know all thriller no filler.
While were on the topic of Canadian dlc heres my two cents.

I like having full albums. Let me give an example...
Metallica's Master of Puppets. One of my favorite songs, Leper Messiah, is on that track... except it's not that popular. By having a full album, I would get that song, whereas with the greatest hits... not a chance.
You know, I'll admit it, I had that same thought too, but once I listened, really listened to one of their songs, and (yes, it's true) read their wikipedia page about how each of them triggers effects pedals, and other things for eachother becasue their songs are so complex, I realized how good they were. Not to mention, if you super-listen, you'll hear that their songs are in really unique time signatures.
I think that both Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are very overlooked musicians, because for some reason, when people say "Rush", Neil Peart is the first person to come to mind.
Now if you don't like Geddy Lee's vocal style, I can understand that; it's very much a "love it or hate it" sort of thing, but if that's true, then take a listen to some of their instrumental songs, like the most popular one, "YYZ"
Sidenote: People keep complaining that one of the big reasons "Moving Pictures" couldn't be a full album download is because "YYZ" has no vocals, but really, if you play Rush correctly (a drummer, a guitarist, and a singing bassist) then you're not going to have a problem :P
I hear ya, but that goes right into my "niche" market argument. On one hand you have "Leper Messiah" which may only be known to die hard Metallica fans. On the other hand you have "Untill it sleeps," much more mainstream. If joeblow gamer could only dl one, which do you think it would be?
Personally i'd love Matthew Sweet's "Girlfriend" album as dlc.....but how many people can name 3 songs off it? Hence "niche" market.
While being able to dl an entire album is a sweet idea. I still think a 6-12 dlc pack of a bands greatest hits/singles is more attractive. It eases the whole "niche" argument and gives both the hardcore fan and joeblow something to be happy about.
