This is why even if Guitar Hero 4 is better and cheaper than RB2 (which it won't be) I still wouldn't buy it. Nice things like this go a long way...thanks Harmonix

meh, ive always just filled out the online form every time a pedal has cracked (and they have cracked a LOT) and they instantly send me a new pedal, and dont give me anything to send back the broken one (i have a box full of a dozen snapped pedals in my basement). if according to this, they stop sending me new pedals, that is just stupid. it's not my fault you guys can't think to make the pedal a bit thicker. these thin plastic things are junk, its impossible to play on expert without breaking them.

activision would save millions of dollars if they bought us all metal pedals after we break the plastic one (so only the expert players who need it would get the metal ones)

Kudos to the involved companies for extending this and getting people new instruments...

Hopefully in the intervening months they actually start to try NEW methods for producing the damn things. I'm glad they are standing behind their instruments, but RMA requests wouldn't still be high enough that they would feel obligated to extend their policy if the new instruments coming out were not breaking as well. Most people I know or have heard of that play on Expert have had to replace guitars (strum bars, overdrive) and drums (pads, broken off heads, pedals) multiple times. Each time, the replacements come back looking the same as the ones sent in.

I have personally modded my drum kit to the max to stop from breaking them (board set along the entire kit underneath to prevent the end pads from breaking off, a camp bed pad and mouse pads on each drum pad to prevent head cracks, and a fully replaced pedal using a real drum pedal). This means they haven't gotten an RMA in 4 months from me... it also means that they may think they've fixed the problem. I probably spent an addition $80 on the mods and a lot of time... so you can say I'm not really happy about HAVING to make them.

Fix them, then stand behind them...

Is there a certain time that this goes into effect today? I just tried to request new pads for the set that I just bought since they're dropping notes like my last set that was fried, but it's telling me that I can't because I have an active request pending. I don't have a request pending and I'm guessing its just giving me this to block me out of requesting new peripherals.

So is there a specific time of day that this goes into effect or am I going to have to call EA up?

If you just bought them then exchange them from the store you just bought them from?

My RMA is stuck on waiting for a receipt, will I have to call them?

Yeah. Are they going to get rid of that receipt page on the RMA form?

You could at least expand about when and how on the 30th. =\

Wow! I just gained a whole lot of respect I never thought I'd have for EA. Between this news and repeatedly watching the trailer for Mirror's Edge, I think EA can actually be a somewhat decent company....
