Will they still honor their warranty if a pad snaps off? My red pad snapped off

I'll give you a complete tirade and show you the two totally different experiences that I had trying to exchange busted guitars and drums.

Now mind you, I purcahsed two complete Rock Band sets for the 360, for the simple fact that I wanted to be able to have drum battles, karaoke battles, and what not. I bought the first set in December 07 and the second set i think in March or April 08. So here's my tale.

The guitar from the first set started to become less responsive when strumming. I signed up for a replacement (express), had my new guitar in 3 days, and send the other one back. No problems, all smooth.

The drumpads were a different story. The set I was using from December was faulting in the red pad, and no matter how hard I tried to hit it to make up for unresponsiveness, it only hit about 60-70 percent of the time. Signed up for a new one (again, express) July 1.

Got an RMA and a tracking number and waited... 10 days later I'm still on 'Billing Info Received.' Sent replies at support.ea.com. First Response I received told me my item was shipped, and reiterated my UPS tracking number. Was told to call UPS.

Got an email from UPS that the package was not received, check with EA.

Got another EA response, that it was shipped.

It was still 'Billing Info Received.'

Called EA (and no, their support was not 24-7, despite it being unclear when the number is provided at the online support page.) and got an apology, was told that my RMA was canceled and would be reentered. Got a new RMA and UPS tracking.

Still, after 4 more days, 'Billing Info Received' only on the UPS site.

Updated my RMA response. so FINALLY (3 days after the update) drum pads were shipped!

Got the box on July 24, opened it up, and voila! a new drum set... for the PS3... um, what? Yes it was to be for a 360.

Called them again, and this time they cleared it up. But before I got my new drum set, they sent me an email reminding me to return my busted pads!!! But they sent me a new drum set (which I received on July 29) and all was well FINALLY!

Oh, and I do know someone who received a refurb pad replacement for the X360, too.

There is a clear warning on the EA Support site that every time you update your RMA request, it causes the process to reset and delays shipping.

I have had very, very good experiences with RMA Express returns.

Which makes no sense to me as if you look at the scuff marks on your drumset I'm betting you'll find plenty on the other 3 colors and hardly any to none on the blue one. This is just unacceptable.
Totally agree with you. I just got a QM drum kit replacement today and it can't do drum rolls worth a damn, just like my QM from December 2007. 8 months = 0% progress in fixing these problems.

    It is disgusting.

My folks bought me RB and a kit for my birthday - had the kit less than a month and a huge crack developed in the yellow pad. Rang up play.com, we sent the old one back and got a new kit in less than a week - great.

Yesterday (just over a month after that) my pedal developed a crack, rang up play.com and they say cos it's over 28 days their warranty doesn't cover it, so I need to get some kind of fault number from 'Microsoft' (i don't think the bloke was very clued up) and get it done that way

I go on the rock band support page (https://ea.riverstarsoftware.com/ea_...ockband_uk.php) and for the kick pedal I had to fill in an electronic form and they'll get back to me via email, hopefully saying they'll send me a new kick.

TODAY I play RB and my yellow pad's got a crack right in the middle I go on the RB support page and after going through the step by step guide it says 'It sounds like you have a faulty set of Drum Pads. You’ll need a replacement set. Please contact your place of purchase to arrange to exchange your Drum Kit. All authorised Rock Band retailers are participating in our warranty programme for faulty Drum Pads.'

So do I go to play.com and say what it says on this site? Cos i really really am loathed to have to buy a new kit, cos this is the 2nd EL i've got and they are bad! Some clarification would be great.

All the drums I get are dead. I don't see why I need to be drumless because of faultier products getting sent to me more so than the originals. Red and Yellows are always dead. I cant hit them to the breaking point and they'll still only work about 40% of the time.
