If it was the real school of rock no question I'd vote for the kids. But the kids in the movie were just OK musically. It was fun, but there are lots of better playing kids out there - these ones happened to be photogenic or whatever.

I still think it's really amazing how authentic all the music bits in That Thing You Do sound. I know the vocals were covered, and I'm not sure about the other parts, but still I thought all this really sounded not just like it came from the 60's but that it could easily have been a hit at that time.

My vote goes to the Oneders.

Coming from one of my favorite movies of all time, I have to vote for The Oneders. I even bought the soundtrack. I know all the songs by heart. It would be hypocritical of me to vote elsewhere. LOL

LOL I tried to name my RB band "Capt. Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters" but it was too long.
