rock band instruments as instruments

hey so i'm listening to some techno now and really want to make some. i know its possible and there have been methods floating around on how to make the rock band guitar into some sort of midi instrument. someone made a program a while back, kind of like the drum kit program, but the download went down and i just kind of forgot about it. can someone point me in the general right direction for using the rock band guitar to make music?

You want to make techno? Download fruityloops for beats/arrangement/etc. and get a midi controller (relatively cheap, depending on what you're looking for). I'd be happy to point you in the right direction if you want more specifics. I'd much rather use the RB drums for creating actual music (semi-close to the real deal) rather than a 5-button guitar.
