    Rishloo - Eidolon

I have to say an excellent album here. Think of Rishloo as progressive/alternate/rock/metal. They claim to be influenced by bands such as

"David Bowie, Tori Amos, Deftones, Elton John, Tool, The Beatles, The Mars Volta, System of a Down, Dredg, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and so many more!"

I can definitely say that they also have a very distinct sound.

Ever since I found out about them on some forum I have been a fan. I've also watched them live in Missoula, MT and they were awesome.

Anyway the album Eidolon is very atmospheric and kick ass at the same time. It has a lot of personality and variety that you just can't find in a lot of rock music coming out these days.

Good band, they take what Tool does and make it a bit less boring, haha. I love the two records I have by them. But as far as those "Tool, Part 2" bands I think I listen to Hurt and Fair to Midland more than Rishloo; but not by much.

Nice perspective. I don't see Rishloo as sounding like Tool that much. Eidilon sounds more unique and nothing like Tool everytime I listen to it. There's many other influences besides Tool. Yes I also listen to Hurt and Fair to Midland. Both of those bands should be in Rock Band.

Oh and New Rishloo in the summer!

Yeah; but you can't deny that their Tool influence is their strongest. I'm pretty sure there is some Dredg influence in there too.

Well I can LOL. Just an opinion. The influnces they list I can hear in their songs. Especially Tori Amos, System of a Down, Pink Floyd and The Mars Volta.

Example. Freaks and Animals is influenced by Tori Amos and System of a Down.

The first bands I thought of when I heard Rishloo were Tool and Fair to Midland. The vocals were especially reminiscent of Maynard's. The instrumentals ranged a bit from the artsy Dredg and Fair to Midland range to the heavier Tool range
That being said, I do enjoy Eidolon a fair bit (though I haven't listened to it in a while), and Terras Fames is okay.
