Well looks like this thread has kicked the bucket.
Oh well...
Watching those videos really makes me wanna play stepmania again.
I hit a block on index ( I passed Reality and A'd Fury of the Storm though, so maybe that's just about as good as I was gonna get. =P) and I didn't really feel like relearning how to play spread so I just kind of quit it a while back. =/
Well you're probably right then. I haven't ever actually PLAYED either of them, but I've seen alot of people play them on youtube.
Eff the 800 BPM one though.
Yeah, I kindof have to admit you're right about his euro-beat stuff, but stuff like Sakura Max 300, and Drop Out are stuff EVERYONE that plays the game knows and remembers.
And Another reason I'm kind of bitter towards Supernova 2 is no Cowgirl.
Ohh how I miss that Cowgirl.
Edit: Rofl this thread now.

Oh, those Stepmania videos are my friend Gary's, not mine. Feel free to add me on YT if you want to though. I play one-handed, but I can AAA most anything on SM...
And I think the whole Dancemania license issue has to do with the fact that Toshiba-EMI doesn't care about the Dancemania series (At least, what used to be the Dancemania series) anymore, so bye-bye Konami deal...
Guitar Patent owned by HMX

I am not 100% sure how patent laws work, but this case will be tied up for years. There are so many patents out there that its going to be a mess to figure it all out. As I understand it, unless you make an exact copy of it and try to sell it as your own, then you aren't violating patent laws. The fact is you cant own the patent to such a wide area. It would be like me owning the patent to the car and suing toyota. Sounds dumb doesn't it? And to all those that say this is stealing, its not. Copying DDR and slapping a new name on it with a couple new features is infringment. Creating a completely different game, even if they used ideas from something else, that provides a unique experience is something quite different. Thats my two cents.
You guys do realize the Guitar Hero has been paying Konami in order to use the patents? Obviously they thought that Konami would have leverage in a lawsuit, otherwise why pay?

This thread needs the loving touch of a moderator.
Still this is Viacom they are suing, a company far bigger then they are.
Either they are stupid or they actually think they got a shot.
Hopes that one day Immortal will make it's way into Rock Band.
There's... just... so... many... posts...
I'm quite certain both users and their IP's will get banned though.
EDIT: On second though I'm just going to close this thread for now. The Konami fanboys are obviously just bitter because Rock Band is better than any Konami rhythm game so they thought they'd come in there and act like little immature jerks. That said, Konami still rocks (MGS IV anyone?) but I can't see how they can succeed in suing HMX.
