It depends on the song, but I think in some cases, reaching five stars on expert is more monumental than striking gold. That first five-star finish says you've finally figured out the song's patterns, and can play them consistently enough for a good performance. Now it's just a matter of time and practice before you're polished enough to go gold.

On that note, last night I finally eeked out that fifth star on "Highway Chile," playing expert pro drums. I still can't play the ending worth a darn, but the rest of the song I've got licked!
It's all right. Everything will work out fine.

Finally did the Endless Setlist 3 on pro drums. What a not-so-fulfilling grind that was! 83 is just too many songs. I was also very underwhelmed by the finish with nothing special happening. I miss the drum-controlled fireworks show!

And on RB3 you don't even have to play it, no fail has no downside, so you can simply listen to 83 songs in a row and it works, just a tip. I personally did it on bass just to put scores on the songs, though lol.

Can't say I agree with this, as a pro keys players, I could name you alot of songs that the solos are in the way for a GS, and they are no joke.

Like I said, it depends on the song. Sure, those Amberian Dawn solos laugh at you as they keep the gold stars out of reach, but consider songs like "Runaway," "Big Shot" or "(I Just) Died in Your Arms." Those endurance-busting runs of chords and quick finger changes are no joke either, and they stop a lot of people from earning a fifth star. But when you finally do get that last star, you're in the clear. A little more time, a little more practice to fine-tune the muscle memory, and you're golden. That's a good feeling to have.

That's all about building endurance. I had problems with endurance until I could finally consistantly 5 star Child in Time, this song is really good at training endurance on pro keys. XD

Might go for the entire solo but the zig-zag and solos D & F are going to be the most annoying parts.
