Got 100% FC of The End by The Beatles AGAIN on expert drums, and i'm not even that good! So yeah, it was kind of a big deal.
I can't quite confirm this is really what happened, but I'm pretty sure it is.
Because I haven't yet bothered to learn the best way to hold and use my drum sticks, I am forever smashing them together, causing missed notes and launched sticks that have threatened many cats and the occasional roommate. Last night was no exception, and in the middle of a drum fill, my sticks collided, letting one note escape. Except...
I play on a Roland e-kit, where the drum triggers are a little more sensitive than the typical stock Rock Band controller. Consequently I have to be careful about counting the beat with my sticks, because any loud, sharp noises near the drum kit can cause a false trigger, even when no drum is actually hit.
So while playing that fill, my sticks collided, and I just knew I'd missed that note. But I recovered quickly enough to play the rest of the fill flawlessly, and when I looked up again afterward, I noticed I still had a 4x multiplier! I feel certain the stick crash caused me to miss the drum completely, but maybe the sound of the sticks themselves were enough to trigger the drum!
Again, I can't swear that's actually what happened, but if so, it was a very cool way to fail at failing.

It's all right. Everything will work out fine.
It's all right. We're going to the end of the line!
Nice. It seems plausible enough I suppose.

Last night I managed 90% on the 2nd solo in Mr. Crowley. That was pretty cool.
