He came to the house and handed me a new set of drum sticks...said "here...can you use these?" I smiled and said of coarse. Then he went to his truck and brought in a cymbal...and said " can you use this...I was at the swap meet".. so I said "..I hope to have a real set one day so thanks". Then he went back to his truck and started unloading an entire set, piece by piece. My whole family showed up. (I was speechless! and thats saying a lot for me) lol.

Anyway, I have one brother who plays on real guitar with me on rock band, and he got together with my other brother who had the bucks...and together they did this amazing thing for me.

Now..I am so not worthy of a real set, because I basically suck even on RB and playing real drums takes an entirely different skill set. But.....I will work my butt off trying to learn, just to make my bro's proud.

Until yesterday, I had never even really touched a real set. It was fun just trying to figure out what goes where. Now I wish I had paid more attention to the drum trainer in RB. I will be going back to review, with a new sense of purpose, so I can translate my RB experience into the real thing. I will probably also spring for lessons now. I actually told myself if I ever reached expert on RB drums, I would take drum lessons, but thought, why, I'll never own real drums. haha...Never say never! Wish me luck. I'm so gonna need it.
Straight up awesomesauce. That's just too cool. Congrats and please keep (at least me) posted on your progress!

We're buying a house and one of my goals is to get a real kit, too. I wanna be Dave frickin' Grohl: sing, drum, guitar, bass, everything.
It's spelled "Squier." Stop spelling it like someone who is in training to be a knight.

I FC'd the entire Backspacer album on expert guitar today. Granted, it's relatively easy all around, but just taking a look at the songs on the song select screen and seeing all gold stars there with 100% next to them... feels good, man.

Serious congrats to you sonicnerd...way cool on your accomplishment!

And thanks STM and N_T, for the good wishes. You'll hear about my big adventures in drumming for sure as I progress. I'm trying to figure out how to re-configure my bedroom into a kind of studio now. I need a smaller bed. lol. With all my RB equipment, I want everything where I can use it, anytime.
(kind of like the Journey song..ha) The keys, the squier, the drums...it's a nice problem to have. Jees the lengths we go to because of a little game called RB. Anyway, thanks again guys. And thx HMX.

First of all congrats on all the great things getting accomplished inside and outside of RB to everybody. OV, totally awesome...hope to be up there with you within the next year or so. RBG that's great what your bros did for you, N_T congrats and good luck on the house hunting, SN I can't play guitar so that definitely sounds like a huge achievement, StM you once again had no victories so way to stay focused and on track (you know you are great). Tried hard to see the boobies on the puppy avatar. Unfortunately I came up blank but wanting a glass of milk.

Now the part that saddens me tremendously. We have a poster in our midst who has an unfair advantage, which should have been glaringly obvious by all of his hourly "victories of the week". I give you the real reason mMb is so good at keys. Taken secretly from in his basement lair on or about July the 32nd.

I don't think we should ostracize him but a good week long shunning is probably in order.

Ok so had a car accident, nothing serious, but soccer mum in her SUV just drove off without leaving her details. I'm fine, cars hurt badly, and I'm unsure I wrote the plate number down right because of shock/surprise, so this may turn out to be an insurance nightmare ...

On the upside, finally made it home, protar upgrade for bombtrack finally hit EU PSN and I 4-starred it on sightread, turned my day around.

Fcd "The Camera Eye" on guitar. Funny because I practiced the solo a couple times just before and only hit it twice. Surprised I didn't miss in the actual run with how late in the song it is. Now only "YYZ" remains so I can finish off the album.

I'm pretty sure this is also my longest FC. For guitar anyway. Got a SRFC on 2112 bass a while ago.

Also FCd "10's" earlier. Any Pantera FC from me deserves a post in here.

EDIT: Yep, TCE is my longest FC by a minute and 20 seconds over "Homecoming"
