    1962 - The Beatles first hit single was released, Love Me Do.

    1968 - Cream begins their farewell tour

    1970 - Led Zeppelin III is released on this day, it will go on to hit #1 in both the UK and US.

    1974 - After 1 year and 83 days in the US Album chart Mike Oldfields Tubular Bells hit #1

    1977 - Queen begins a US tour

    1984 - The title track from the Purple Rain album hits #1 and is a million seller

    1988 - Axl Rose guests on Don Henley's thrid solo album. Welcome To The Jungle is featured in the Dirty Harry movie The Dead Pool.


    1989 - The Foreskins play a date at The Whiskey. Turns out to be a surprise gig by Motley Crue as a warmup for the Dr. Feelgood tour.

    nah, I still have a few rock history books that are filled with daily facts left over from my short lived days in radio. Same books dj's use as filler between songs.
