So before I start this thread off....I want to go ahead and preemptively dismiss any hateful console war related comments that will follow (because I know they will). This thread isn't meant to decide which is better, PS3 or 360, I simply wanted to bring up a comment that I couldn't sit back and stomach on my own. I hope this stays civilized....
So I just got home and watched my DVR'd episode of X-Play. In the Gaming Update, this was said (and I paraphrase as I immediately deleted the episode in rage) "Harmonix has big news for owners of Rock Band 2. They are currently working on a way for 360 owners to transfer all of their songs from Rock Band 1 onto the 360 hard-drive for play in Rock Band 2."
So I can see 1 of 2 scenarios being the case:
1)X-Play (who have a history of PS3 bashing and MS fan-boyism) purposefully chose to not include the fact that these transfers will also work on the PS3.
2)Harmonix sent out a press release with specific details on how this will work on the 360 but left off the fact that it will also work on the PS3, to further support Microsoft and to try to get sales up for that exclusive launch (After all, that's what the exclusive launch is for, to sway those who can't wait for the later versions to buy the 360 version, so why not use the method of excluding PS3 from feature press releases to support the same cause).
I really, really, really hope that it is scenario 1. Like I said, I get amazed at how biased X-Play is (I.E. If they review a multi-platform game they like, it's always the 360 version. If they review a multi-platform game they don't like, they show the PS3 version instead), so I'm hoping that HMX isn't intentionally saying "Hey, just say 360, no need to mention this also works on the PS3."
Again, I ask for your thoughts, but I ask for your CIVILIZED thoughts and if anyone else has noticed this type of trend anywhere else.
