im gonna say Rush will be one, mainly because you can vote for more Rush on the poll for more genre of music

We have a very large varying consensus on what pop is. Charting on the pop charts doesn't make things pop. And, if you look at the charting, her singles from the album charted on 6 different US charts:

Hot 100 - Based on all radio airplay and sales. Only 2 of the 6 singles from the album charted ("Ironic" and "You Learn").

U.S. Hot 100 Airplay - This is the airplay factor that goes into the Hot 100 chart. All 6 singles charted with only 1 reaching number 1 ("You Learn") and 4 of the other 5 making the top 15 (13, 15, 2, 3, 65).

U.S. Modern Rock - The 40 most played songs on Modern Rock radio. 3 of the singles hit number 1. The other 3 were top 25 (7, 25, 14).

U.S. Mainstream Rock - The 40 most played songs on Mainstream Rock radio. Only the first 4 singles charted, and the highest any of them got was number 3 ("You Oughta Know")

Adult Top 40 - Music for adults who are not into hard rock, teen pop, dance music, hip-hop, or slower adult contemporary fare. 4 singles charted, with 1 reaching number 1 ("Head Over Feet").

Top 40 Mainstream - Often confused with Pop 100 airplay. Based on how many times a song is played on pop stations (Pop 100 is based on audience reaction). 5 of the singles charted with 3 of them reaching number 1 ("Ironic," "You Learn," and "Head over Feet").

The singles, and the album, had the most success on rock radio. It was an alternative rock album that received airplay on pop stations probably because it was a female artist and a majority of listeners to pop stations are adult women.

Anyway, I am probably coming off harsh, but I just like to get to the point. All I am trying to say is it would be a stretch to consider that a pop album. I have a feeling the Pop album will be something much older anyway.

    my prediction/suggestion

rush - permanent waves or signals (moving pictures is already represented)
    metallica - master of puppets
    nirvana - nevermind
    B-52s - B-52s (self titled debut album)
alice in chains - facelift (some great deep cuts)
red hot chili peppers - blood sugar sex magic

yeah the 60s is neglected but the 70s, 80s, and 90s are all represented well

i just hope its not new albums....that just stinks of marketing. we want classics not new albums that suck 99% of the time. that motley crue stuff is just horrible and of course all the wrestling 'metal' is almost as bad.

give us good stuff...thanks HMX (don't let MTV dictate or we all lose)

    Good choices.

    I'm thinking the following:

Elvis Costello - This Year's Model [Pop] (Yeah, it's considered pop)
Deep Purple - Machine Head [Metal] (Legendary album and a six pack=cheap)
REM - Murmur (Milestone rock album)
Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood (The old Crue people want most)
Foo Fighters - The Color And The Shape (Their best and most well known album)
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic (Milestone 90s album)

Though I'm probably wrong, there's too many possible choices. But I'd love any of those.

If they are really going for epic, I see the following:

Pop: Thriller; this would work, I already listened to all the songs
Alternative: Jagged Little Pill; not pop, alternative, and the highest selling Alternative album of all time.
Metal- Reign In Blood, Well epic Black Sabbath is out, so isn't Iron Maiden, and I would say Metallica is out as well. It is either this or Rust In Peace if we are talking Epic.

As for the other three, I cannot even begin to think as there is no hint as to what genres, but for what I would want.

Radiohead- The Bends or OK Computer
Bruce Springsteen- Born to Run; Van Zandt is(was?) the lead on getting masters and he is in the E Street Band.
The Clash - London Calling; Need a punk album, and what better one than this?!

Neither Maiden or Metallica is out. No songs from Piece of Mind have been released yet, so it's a possibility. With Metallica, "Battery" is in Rock Band 2 and no songs from Master of Puppets were in their first pack, so I reckon it will be released as full album DLC.
