    London Calling would be epic.

Hopefully, Train In Vain being released separately doesn't hurt it's chances, though.

    B-52s - B-52s (self titled debut album)
alice in chains - facelift (some great deep cuts)
red hot chili peppers - blood sugar sex magic

yeah the 60s is neglected but the 70s, 80s, and 90s are all represented well
I don't have a problem with your suggestions, but 2 are from the 80's and 3 are from the 90's. Not really a "well" representation of the 70's, though I am glad you included them.

Six 'New Rock Band' Albums coming and more new information

G4 just mailed in to let us know that they have just finished speaking to the PR co-ordinator for Harmonix and he's revealed the following: Six new full albums will be coming for the music game, a new full album will be out by end of August and Steely Dan's Bodhisattva will be the hardest song ever in the series and Harmonix plans to hit the 500 song mark for DLC by the end of the year.

God I hope one of them albums is Linkin Park!!! Lets Go Hybrid Theory or Minutes to Midnight!

Your Mainstream Top 40 are your Pop Charts. Sounds like we'll have to agree to disagree here, but it's OK to like the music even if it's classified as pop.

There were no "Pop" charts when the songs came out. They charted much higher on the Rock Stations anyway.

It sounds like you are arguing that nothing could be classified as Pop music before the mid-90's. I disagree.

I think Maiden is out due to Masters. And Metallica is out because I remember HMX saying a Best of pack for Metallica, which doesn't count as an album.

i'm calling it now... the pop album absolutely will definitely be... THE NEW SELF-TITLED JONAS BROTHERS ALBUM!!!!! ... actually hopefully not. hoping they mean like modern pop or britpop, not 90s boy band pop or just plain crappy pop. hopefully finally some franz ferdinand. although a franz song pack is more likely. its probably be an oasis or maybe blur album. also please give us kings of leon sometime this year.
