I wish I was at the tour with Steve Vai. Made it to the second one. Still great. I unfortunately lost the ticket I got signed by him; guess this just gives me an excuse to see him again, though, haha.

Amazing how many people you've met. The only famous person in general I've seen in a scenario outside of a concert was Roberto Benigni (star of Life is Beautiful). He was eating dinner two tables away from us in Italy, but we didn't want to disturb him.

Nice: Carl Weathersby (from stories my dad told bout when he saw them, and plus he worked with his bassist)

Jerk: Rick Wakeman (kinda assholish with some stuff he's done)

I did and took her to one of the old film locations. She was very cool and much prettier in person. She offered to put me on the guest list for her show that night but sadly I was unable to make it.

Everyone in the band Fozzy - I cant say enough about just how great the whole band was to my nephew who was 11 at the time.It was his first concert and we were first row. Rich Ward the guitarist played up to him all night as did the whole band from time to time. Rich even let me sing his parts to Eat The Rich(Motorhead cover not the Aerosmith song of the same name). End of the show during the encore Rich pulled Carter up on stage and let him wear his guitar, then put him on his shoulders and ran around the stage allowing the little guy to strum maniacally away on the Les Paul. It was great! The capper was Chris Jericho taking Carter by the hand to center stage in the spotlight and headbanging with him for the finale. Class act those guys, can't say enough about them. Killer band too IMO.
Those are some awesome experiences Axl.

Now for my list of nice people.

Alex Lifeson: Judging from the interviews and seeing Rush live, he seem like a pretty cool guy.

Atomic Punks: These guys were cool for being a cover band and all. Let people take group shots after the show and stayed for a good half hour.

Thanks bro, I've just been lucky with right place right time sometimes.

Agreed on the Atomic Punks, those guys rock! And really great guys to boot, Ralph was a bit of a buddy for awhile. Those same guys also do a really good Rush tribute band as well as Metal Skool/Steel Panther.

I used to work in an airport bookstore and occasionally celebrities would come into the store looking for something to do in between flights. Most of them were pretty decent people and were more than willing to shoot the **** with anyone who recognized them (Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore, Weird Al, KRS-1, one of the guys from Phish, plus lots of others, it was a pretty fun job in that regard).

Tommy Lee came in once and he was a jerk though. I stood directly in front of him and while making eye contact asked him if he needed help with anything three times. I asked him three times because he completely ignored me. DMX came in once right around the time his autobiography was released and proceeded to chew out my 60 year old coworker for not recognizing him on sight. Nothing but a couple of douchebags, as far as I'm concerned.

i've never seen or read an interview with tom petty where i didn't feel like we were best buds by the end of it.

most musicians i've met have acted very friendly in my experience... the only exceptions i can think of are ravn and archaon from 1349 and maria taylor from bright eyes and azure ray.

also, towards the end of the 1st wave of screamo (8 years ago or so) it seemed like every band i came in contact were full of snobbish jerks (love lost but not forgotten, usurp synapse, etc.).

All of the guys in Everytime I die and four year strong are super nice, and I don't see WHERE someone got the idea that Manson was a douchebag.
He's one of the nicest people I've seen from interviews.
And I figured Katy Perry would be pretty nice too.
