^Didn't really like the vocals in that song. Everything else was pretty good though.

Sorry about the fan-made video. Although I think the guy did an awesome job with it.

i'm afraid this song didn't do anything for me. though the vocalist obviously has a good voice, the music was extremely weak and bland.

Hmmm, this is going to sound worst than what I actually think of it...

Alright first I find the core of the song interesting and full of potential. The guys is obviously talented.

I did find the melody to be way too poppy, or kiddish, and the lyrics need some serious work. That's very subjective of course. What I think is completly off with the song is how much it's over-produced. It sounds way too polished, and the repetitiveness of the song combined with the "epic" sound attempt is just anti-climatic, but in a bad way.

I wish it was grittier, with more dirty piano and less artifacts.

Now here comes 10 minutes of acquired taste. I give you the Fiery Furnaces - Blueberry Boat. I dare you to listen to it 3 times before passing judgement.

I only listened to it once, because I didn't need to acquire the taste. I loved the song for all of its quirky goodness. I'm usually not a fan of female vocals (I don't know, I just don't like how they sound for the most part. Don't murder me) but they worked perfectly in this song. They managed to be weird without being too gimmicky or anything. The sound varied enough to keep interest and they even managed to work some of the very abrupt changes well. I might actually look into this band out further.

autopsy is one of my favorite death metal bands. not only did they combine a healthy dose of doom into their songs, but they were also kings at creating a filthy, unnerving atmosphere... the only death metal bands that seem to pull that off today are portal and coffins... bravo!

Man, and people keep claiming NIRVANA invented grunge. I have no idea how I could have missed out on these guys. This is right up my alley. You can hear so much in such a simple song. Pop, punk, new age (especially the volals), obviously grunge. Am I the only one that find they sound like a clean Pixies? I REALLY dig this, and I'll be looking more into them for sure.

Crap I enjoyed this so much I forgot to find something to post. I'll edit :-)

There. If the Furnaces didn't cause any commotion, then you can handle Deerhoof

while i still think their shining moment was "reveille", deerhoof have definitely never failed to impress me...
any band that can pull off a mix of minimal pop and no wave skronk, yet keep it tame enough for indie rockers is definitely in control of their sound. thankfully, they have the vision to go along with the talent.

    Huh... I enjoyed it.

A nice lead, along with the few vocals accompanying it.

^^^ Metal's not really my thing mostly, so I wasn't a huge fan. It seems like much of the genre is macho-ly overdone. That said, I was able to stomach this ok. The guitar soloing was pretty impressive.

Predictably from me.. For the next listener...
