Default Polysics - Japanese Band inspired by Devo

So this band Polysics is a Japanese band that I recently started getting into because of a friend, and I think they're neat! Anyway, so I'm listening to some of my newly acquired music from them, and one of the "Albums" I have is called "Live @ KEXP," which is a radio station in Seattle, WA (KEXP 90.3FM).

So yeah, this band was interviewed by the guy doing "The Afternoon Show," and he mentions that the band was formed in 1997 and was inspired by their love of Devo. I think this interview was done around 2005, 2006, since he mentions their new album "Now is the time!" being released "a few weeks ago" (album was released in '05 in Japan, '06 in US), which said album was co-produced by Andy Gill of "Gang of Four." He also mentions how they were dressed in "Devo-esque red jumpsuits and great glasses," and they were set to play a show Portland the next day.

So, I just came on here to make this thread because I thought it was cool how RB just released Devo, and 1 of the bands I'm into right now was inspired by Devo, so yeah... Cool coincidence that I thought I'd share with you all.

Here is a pic of Devo: Devo

And here is a pic of Polysics: Polysics

And finally, here is a video of one of the songs I like the best (Trippy video!! @_@):

Black Out Fall Out

Polysics - Black Out Fall Out

I know their music won't appeal to many of the people here on the boards, but ah well. If RockBand: Japan ever does happen, I hope Polysics is on the bill. At the time of the interview, they had about 10 albums total in Japan, of which 4 were available for purchase in the US. Peace out!

I saw them live when they opened for Hellogoodbye and Say Anything. They were pretty good, they at least put on a very fun show to watch.

They are one of the many Japanese Bands that I'd love to see in this game.

I've seen live videos of them on youtube, and they look like they DO put on a fun show... I envy you a bit now, lol. They're on tour but it doesn't appear that they will be coming to the states this year. At least now I'll keep my eyes open!
