    krautrock discussion and exploration thread.

i've noticed at least two other members of the forum are at least familiar with krautrock so i thought it'd be cool to start this thread up and see what becomes of it. it may be a slow start, but i'll eventually have more content and hopefully some others will help out.

for starters, if you don't know what krautrock is then allow me to link you to official source for all official information in the world that can never be argued against or even doubted...

    NEU! for RockBand

Sure, most Kraut wouldn't fit very well in the Rockband format, and, let's face it, it is not easy-listening.

Yet, all the prog fans should have a look at Can's Tago Mago and Ege Bamyasi.

i sort of got residually sucked into liking krautrock from a band member of mine. however, all i've ever really gotten into was Neu! Can, and amun duul.

i must say, that when i saw "what we do is secret", my favorite line was when Don was auditioning for the Germs and was all "i know you guys are into the same stuff as me. Krautrock and Avant Noise!"

Porcupine Tree did an interesting cover of Hallogallo, but it's pretty different from the original.
It's on the special edition of Signify.

I would definitely buy any of this....or probably pretty much anything Afterstasis posts about LOL.

i'm not a huge fan of porcupine tree, but i'll have to look that cover up. thanks for the heads up.

here's a commonly overlooked band who were just as good, if not better, than most of the big names.

Sometimes I think the "kratrock" label is very... vague.
