    No Punk album?

Here are all the albums that have been released or announced:

Screaming for Vengence by Judas Priest
    The Cars by The Cars
    Doolittle by The Pixies
    Moving Pictures by Rush
    Nothing Shocking by Jane's Addiction
Peace Sells, But Who's Buying? by Megadeth
Blood Sugar Sex Magic by Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Color and the Shape by Foo Fighters
Texas Flood by Stevie Ray Vaughn

Not a single Punk album. Any theories on why? Has Punk DLC not sold as well as other Genres? I can certainly think of several punk "classic" albums... Rocket To Russia by Ramones, London Calling by Clash, Nevermind the Bollocks by Sex Pistols, even some HxC like Damaged by Black Flag, or Plastic Surgery Disasters by Dead Kennedeys.

So why 9 albums and 2 mega packs in do we not have a Punk album or best of comp?
    Missing in action:

    Enter Sandman
    Battery
    Paranoid
    Let There Be Rock
    Anyway You Want It
    Give it Away
    Spoonman

    Bring them home HMX!

Im sure the quality or mere existance of entire classic punk albums are up in the air. That being said, yeah it is kind of shocking. Maybe not enough variety front to back? Dunno, Im sure its in the works.

Jane's Addiction doesn't count even remotely as Punk? From the little I know of them, I'd consider them in the same vein as the Sex Pistols or Dead Kennedys. Am I wrong?

In my opinion, most punk is too simple and repetitive to satisfy in Rock Band. Punk albums also have a tendency to be really short so that might be a factor.

I dunno, i personally don't much appreciate punk and am very, very satisfied by the albums that have been announced. But I do think that the next time they announce a batch of albums there definitely should be a punk classic in there for the variety. Also might be fun to sing.

I have no idea what i would classify Jane's Addiction as. You can hear some punk influences in their material, but that's mostly in the lyrical themes. Musically they're very... i dunno, but it's not punk.

easy, because there's a bias towards metal.

I consider Social Distortion's self-titled a classic punk album. It has their best songs and is good all the way through. I'd download this album twice.

That's exactly what makes Jane's Addiction so freakin awesome!!!! Punk, pop, metal, goth, glam, funk....it's ALL in there.
