Best Progressive Band

what's the best Progressive Rock band and yes i realize the Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead aren't true Progressive, but some people consider them it, as i do.

king crimson is my favorite of the ones listed there (i wouldn't consider smashing pumpkins a prog band so i'm skipping them).

Smashing Pumpkins isn't progressive. But there are so many other bands you're skipping. What about The Mars Volta, Genesis, ELP, Opeth, Le Orme, Ayreon, Tool, etc etc etc

Smashing Pumpkins isn't progressive. But there are so many other bands you're skipping. What about The Mars Volta, Genesis, ELP, Opeth, Le Orme, Ayreon, Tool, etc etc etc

and magma, gentle giant, marillion, ruins, van der graaf generator, gong, samla mammas manna, etc.

I'd have to go with Dream Theater, although I love me some Rush. I'm disappointed to not see any Opeth or Transatlantic, though (yes, I understand there is an "Other" section).
