Sorry for thread necromancy, but i'm shocked no-one has mentioned these:

-Brighter Death Now (the band that really got me into noise when i was a teenager. Saw him live at WGT '07 and that concert was one of the most intense experiences ever.)
-Atrax Morgue (Has also be called Death Industrial but that genre is silly)
-Whitehouse (One of the first artist to do just plain noise)
-NON (Ok, more Industrial than Noise, but Boyd Rice/NON is a legend!)
-STROM.ec (My friends band, too bad quick search on Youtube didn't find anything more noisy by them, as that song VALIS is one of their softest and easiest to listen to....)
-Noises Of Russia (Great band, and really cool guys. Met them at this noise festival where i was dj:ing)
    -Nic Endo (<3<3<3)

.....and now i'm getting carried away and the list is becoming really bloated. And that's just the tip of the iceberg, there's really great stuff in that genre....
    Wantlist:
    The Smiths
    Bauhaus
    Fifties and early sixties
    Killing Joke
    The Cure
    Public Image Ltd
    More Industrial

Well duh! Nahvalr is an amazing perfect terrifying blend of noise and black metal (with drone buffering inbetween). It's a masterpiece. One of few records that actually scares me.

I listened to Metal Machine Music yesterday, so I thought it would be a good idea to bring this thread back. I didn't know what to expect going in, but I ended up enjoying it more than I thought.

I talked about how I liked Nahvalr a lot in my last post, so I'm going to explore some of the similar artists that last.fm gives.

I think the last thing noise relative I listened to was Ash Borer; which I felt was a less erratic and maddening Nahvalr.

Nice, I'll have to give that a listen as well, I've heard good stuff about last year's release from various places.

Nothing will ever come close to Nahvalr for me, I think. As you can see my comments on it above.

I thought Ash Borer's 2011 album was fantastic, though I don't know if I'd consider it much of a noise-influenced record. Maybe I just have to listen to it again.
