Has anyone here ever seen the Australian Pink Floyd Show? I'm going to see them perform The Wall tomorrow and from what I've seen, they the music of Pink Floyd almost perfectly.

Remember when you were young,
You shone like the sun!
Shine on you crazy diamond!
I did. It was quite good. I never saw PF live (I'm 17 lol) but I believe they can reproduce the Floyd feeling very well.
It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

First of all, I have to say, this band is AMAZING. They're a cover band, but they sound almost EXACTLY like the original. The concert starts with musicians (not the actual band) on large pedestals playing Folk-like music while the band prepares. About 15 or so minutes in, the band starts the concert with the roaring opening chord of In the Flesh?. They played it exactly like the album version. I believe the animation starts on this song. Now, they didn't follow the album, they followed the movie. The animation featured a stuffed dummy that represents Pink. The Thin Ice was played perfectly as well, not too much special about the performance. The band then breaks right into Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 1, which was played note for note. On the large screen behind the band, the animation features a man clad in Crocodile Hunter-esque clothes, and a reproduction of the church scene during this song from the movie with a boy who looks like Harry Potter. This led straight into The Happiest Days of Our Lives and Pt. 2, which featured the entrance of the amazing backing vocals of Emily Gervers, Oia Bienkowska, Jacquie Williams, and Amy Smith. During Pt. 2, the band went into an improvised jam. The jam started with a very Jazzy keyboard solo, followed by a SRV-like solo and tapping galore. The song was topped off with a short drum solo and Colin Wilson (Bass, Vocals) nailing the schoolmaster's laugh and lines perfectly. Soon after, Steve Mac (Guitar, Vocals) starts playing the intro to Mother, much to the crowd's delight. Wilson did especially well on this song. The crowd also responded to the lyrics, taking the role of "Mother":
Wilson: Mother, should I run for president?
Random People: WHY NOT!?
Wilson: Mother, should I trust the government?
Audience: *Lots of boos*
They then broke into my favorite song off the album (Aside from In the Flesh), Goodbye Blue Sky. Not much to say it about this song except the fact that they did it perfectly. Meanwhile, on the large screen, the wall continues to build, which leads the band into Empty Spaces. This was followed by Young Lust and half of the audience yelling "I am just a new boy, stranger to this town!" This was followed by One of my Turns and Don't Leave Me Now, which sounded very similar to the studio version. Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything about ABitW Pt. 3, because I had to use the restroom. <_< Then, I get back and enjoy the last half of Goodbye Cruel World, which was followed by, much to my annoyance, the lights going up and the large screen saying "intermission".About 15 minutes later, Mac went into the opening arpeggios of Hey You. This song was played quite differently than the original, with two guitars harmonizing and the arpeggios being shorter. This led into a great performance of Is There Anybody Out There. This cover was spot on and followed by Nobody Home (an audience favorite) and Vera (also an audience favorite). For Vera, the screen pictures of (what I believe is) Roger Water's ex. Bring the Boys Back Home featured a small marching band that came out, instead of simply using the drummer (Paul Bonney). BtBBH was followed what was probably the best song of the night: Comfortably Numb. Wilson captured the haunting melody of the vocals perfectly. The crowd sang along to the chorus, giving it a perfect atmosphere. The animation featured the dummy (Pink) going crazy. The first solo was played by Damian Darlington (guitar, vocals). The solo had the perfect tone and was note for note. Then the song went into the haunting melody and the sing-along chorus again. Then, Mac played the second solo, which was perfect down to the last detail. The Show Must Go On was another great sing-along song, with the audience chanting "The show must go onnn!". This brought the concert to my favorite song off the album, In the Flesh. This was yet another song to chant to, with the lines "Against...the...wall!". The next song, Run Like Hell, brought out the better effects. Radioactive green 'lasers' shot through the audience in sync to the delayed guitar, followed by the familiar intro the song:
"Are they are any paranoids in the audience?" "Is there anyone who worries about things?" "Pathetic. This is for all the weak people in the audience. Is there anyone here who is weak?" "This is for you, it's called Run Like Hell!"
Soon after came one of the best songs to chant to, Waiting for the Worms. This brought the whole audience yelling, "WAITING! WAITING!". The next song, Stop, was played very well, nothing much to say about it. >_> This was followed by The Trial. The animation was very similar to the movie. This was a fun song, with Wilson singing all the parts instead of using a recorded tape (or something similar...). Most of the audience loved to sing along to "Crazy! Over the rainbow! Yes, he is craaazy!" During this part, the animation was a scene of Pink with stress lines all over his face, simple yet effective. This song ended with the chanting (a lot of chanting. <_<) of "TEAR DOWN THE WALL! TEAR DOWN THE WALL!". The Wall was torn down and the band played Outside the Wall, which was followed by a long standing ovation. After about 10 minutes, the band returned and started the horns to Shine On, another sing-along favorite. I was expecting them to only play 1-5 or 6-9, but they played the full thing. This was followed by Great Gig in the Sky, which featured the wonderful Amy Smith on vocals, singing Clare Torry's parts perfectly. After about a minute wait, they went into the next song, Wish You Were Here. If Comfortably Numb wasn't the best song of the night, this one was. By the end, about everyone was singing:
"How I wish, how I wish you were! We're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl, year after year! Running over the same old ground, what have we found? The same old fears! Wish you were here!"
Next is Meddle. This song brings almost complete silence to the crowd. An amazing performance. Finally, the encore was topped off with Brain Damage/Eclipse, which was an absolutely spot on performance and had a similar video to the original, except this one featured clips of McCain, Bush, Palin, and Obama. :smartass:
Cons:
N/A
Pros:
Everything.
Score:
5/5.
If you are a fan of Pink Floyd and didn't get to see the original, I highly suggest you go see this band. Hell, even if you did see the original, I highly recommend seeing them. They're like Pink Floyd wearing disguises.

Remember when you were young,
You shone like the sun!
Shine on you crazy diamond!
Lol... were you payed for this?
No, I completely agree actually. When I saw them, they were playing dark side of the moon on first part. Then other random song. Their impro was on Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun. It was very amazing.
It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.
