Rock Band drums on GHWT lots of gameplay vids

This guys is playing with the RB drums and has GHWT already obviously and is putting up a lot of vids of songs if you guys want to check them out. A couple of flaws I've noticed is the yellow pad doubles for a hi-hat and now a crash in that game and is not charted to green. Also the yellow does not count as a tom so the blue and green pull double duty to make that one up which is also awkward as well I think because it makes you roll backwards on some songs, lol. So obviously Harmonix got it right the first time and GH thought they were cool and actually undercharted a couple of things. Oh well still looks pretty good for their first try. Check out his vids.

Harmonix, please include Gin Blossoms for DLC soon. Don't keep them underrated, Hey Jealousy!!!

Thanks for the link! Weird indeed that green is not crash... that will force me so switch my Ion configuration if I want to play GHWT! Would you happen to know somehow if the RB1 mic will work on XBox360 for GHWT? I know my Les Paul wireless of GHIII will work but I was wandering for the mic!
    Thanks

    ANY USB mic will work.

So the answer is yes, the RB mic will work.

It's just not doing it for me. I'm watching the videos but they feel kinda lifeless. When you play Rock Band, the atmosphere makes you almost feel like you're there. With GH:WT it just doesn't have that vibrancy. I'm actually kinda disappointed. I was hoping it would be something I could pick up and enjoy but it doesn't look like it.

Well you wont have to worry about switching it as the Ion kit dosent work properly with GH:WT.

Exactly. I'm sure GH:WT will be a great game and all, but I just don't get the impression that Neversoft and Activision put much love into the creation of the game. It just seems like they are going through the motions; the same applied to GH3.

    Agreed.

That was a really disappointing set of videos. This game completely lacks life. That was what the appeal of GH 1, GH 2 and RB are. These games pull you into the music, and A LOT of effort is put in to make the characters feel real.

GH:WT looks like GH III with new skins (doesn't exactly speak volumes for the effort that Neversoft put into the game) and that is not a good thing. The character models in GHIII were just plain awful and looked like they belonged back in the days of the early PS2. These look the same, and, in addition, the animations are just awful with the characters more often than not just standing in place doing little twirls or shifting back and forth.

I don't believe that I have ever been to a rock concert where the only one moving around has been the singer (and even the singer seems very stiff and not very inclined to move around a lot).

Acti/Never may be after the big music, but I really, truly, firmly believe that they have no idea how to create an immersive experience for this kind of game. They are not putting the kind of effort that one has to into the game to make it what it should be.

In my opinion, there is no competition here at all, GH:WT is clearly the inferior of the two.

I think it looks way better than GH3 and GH Aerosmith, but it still doesn't compare to RB2 (or RB1 for that matter). At least the crowd isn't composed of 2D sprites anymore - but it looks like they still haven't figured out how to offset the animations for the crowd movement so that 50 of them aren't doing the exact same thing at the same time. ;P

I'm really unimpressed with those drum fill samples too - sounds like Midi with no ambiance and totally doesn't fit with the music. Not that big of a deal for me since I usually play with an e-kit with speakers attached, but this would kill it for me if I wasn't. The blue crash is gonna mess me up at first - I wonder why they did that?

If you think those are lifeless though, you should try playing on the special Tool stage - no band members just a big tunnel with eyes in it. :P

I was hoping for more and I really wanted to see it compete with RB2 since I'll probably be getting GH:WT to play Death Magnetic on drums, but so far I'm pretty unimpressed. Oh well, I hope these issues don't ruin the experience of playing some of the songs I really wanted in GH:WT. I've still got one hand on the fence about this game.

Doesn't the GH:WT drum kit have 5 drums? What does the game change to accommodate RB drum users? The video showed only 4, but the game cant just drop the orange from every song.
