    I don't agree.

Maybe not same band but there is a ton of similarities, like maybe a same genre ;p. More so than Coheed and King Crimson, who are allegedly, the same genre.

I consider Coheed as a hard rock band with some Maiden influence at best. I don't hear much 'progressive' music about them.

Didn't realize. I typically avoid Slipknot (though they are good showmen).

I'm also on-board with this whole "why is Coheed prog?" thing.

I avoid them like the plague. 9 band members? Seriously?! Didnt care for the ridiculous overproduction or the silly costumes, but my wife enjoyed them immensely at a point in her life (along with other numetal acts, generally I got to see them all together because they all toured together)

I don't listen to them at all either, but given a mute button I can deal with watching them. Enjoy their music or not, as a band they have tremendous stage presence. And yes, nine members is ridiculous.

They do enjoy themselves on stage, I can attest for this. As for the DJ, just listen to something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDcwBWWKGIs
    Tons of scratching.

I think that song has 3 seperate discernable rhythms going on at once.
