I'm terrible at instructing others, but your best bet is keeping your index finger on the white keys with the raised ridges (also known as the first note of each color change).

I didn't dig into training mode past the first section or so because it was so tedious for me and I was ready to jump into Space Oddity, goddammit.

EDIT: I'm talking about your right hand in case that wasn't obvious.

the new layout allows for bigger avis now apparently, i now have one that has a decent resolution

gaaah, if these forums would just keep me logged in for more than 5 minutes. I like the larger avatar resolution a lot, but it always says "fail" when i try to upload a new image.

I'm actually not having a problem staying logged in on these forums, which is odd since I only was able to be signed in on the forum pages on the old forum. I'd get signed out whenever I went to my profile and such.

For once, I agree with you. Eventually, we'll get used to it, but I'm already missing the old forum setup.

RO: Keyboard is freakin' hard.

Yeah, I don't like the new forum layout, but I'm sure I'll get used to after a while. Keys started out kind of tricky, but after a day or so of practice, I'm doing pretty well.

Have you tried the trainers yet?
My roommate's never played a keyboard beyond just doodling on keys, but she's managing easy pro after spending an hour in pro keys training mode.

I've played most of the songs on easy pro and a handful on medium pro. It's gonna take a while to get used to such a daunting note highway.

The trainers have helped out tremendously, I'm actually doing pretty well on pro keys albeit on Easy-Medium.

quite fitting you should mention that. had to upload it on another site and just link it. manually uploading an image to rb.com isn't working.
