In school we should be well past learning about what the word 'Ironic' means.
Yet even though I'm in my junior year I still have to hear this. And my teacher put on that Alanis song that has nothing to actually do with irony and said it lists various examples.

I can kinda understand still learning about irony in junior year (as long as you're talking junior year of high school), but any use of that song to illustrate the concept immediately loses any sort of credibility.
