RO (possibly UO): I really consider Head Over Heels, at least with Broken, one of Tears for Fears strongest songs, and easily the strongest on Songs from the Big Chair. There's something really great about its simplicity; you don't often hear a straight pop song with that much passion. Perhaps Roland Orzabal is just really, really good at what he does, but it doesn't come off as contrived to me at all. Needless to say, I was very pleasantly surprised it was the song chosen for RB, over something like Shout.
Maybe it's just because it's not overplayed for me, like it apparently is with others. Seriously, the first time I ever heard the song was a year or two ago, when I first listened to Songs from the Big Chair. Song really struck a chord with me. Never seen Donnie Darko, for the record, so I have no idea what that does with it.
On that same note, the Katy Perry cover of aforementioned song is atrocious.
I consider Sum 41 about 10,000,000 times more tolerable than Blink, and I don't particularly care for Sum 41, outside a song or two (and those are definitely nostalgia fueled).
Come to think of it, despite hating most of their music with a burning passion, Blink actually has exactly one song I don't hate. I feel like I'd be eaten alive for saying which one, though.

. I really think Tom Delonge and the other guy are bad lyricists, so the fact that it's not written by them may be a reason why I like it.
