Landed a job at a music store, my mom knows one of the owners, so I can't wait to use my discount and paycheck on some new gear (J-Mascis Jazzmaster, some pedals, etc.).

Had pneumonia since Saturday, got a chest X-ray and found out there's a secondary infection that could be TB. Took the skin test and I can get it read on Friday to find out if it's TB or not. So that's been fun haha
Despite all my rage, I'm still just Nicolas Cage

Most of my vinyl came with collector's bundles of albums in other formats.

The one that serves as sheer overengineering, though, is Storm Corrosion's vinyl. 2xLP for an album under 48 minutes in length? Oy.

(Then again, it also came with the audio on Blu-Ray, which is fantastic.)

Bummer to hear about George Jones kicking the bucket.
Double-bummer that it happened on my dad's birthday, since George is one of the few musicians he likes.

does this mean your dad likes few musicians specifically or that he hates music in general?

A bit of both. George Jones, Johnny Cash, and Merle Haggard are his faves, followed by a handful of other country artists and 50's-60's rockers (Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, etc.).

Like most men in their 80's, my dad is not much of an explorer of the arts.

And the trend of big name indie bands in need of a quick buck reuniting continues...

I've caught Jeff solo within the last year and it's nearly the same experience I would imagine, but I guess this is kinda cool, especially if new material could come out of this (even though it most likely will pale in comparison to Aeroplane)
Hello, this is hiimSMAP, I lost my e-mail in the server attacks so this is my new account.

i've really grown apathetic to NMH, but it would be so ****ing cool to see Half Japanese, who are opening for them (though it should be the other way around) in October in Athens.

If prices and schedules allow I may catch the North Carolina show. It would be really nice to also see Daniel Johnston.

My first solo recording with any effort put into it was a cover of the title track from In The Aeroplane, and my love for that entire album is still immense.

EDIT: Looks like that cover's in my Mediafire folder right here. Just remember, this was right after high school and prior to my intro to PC recording.

Damn, looks like I'll be out of the state when Opeth plays locally next week. Oh well, maybe next tour (I've been saying that for what, their last three or four US tours now?).
