Yeah, Alan Wake is the first game I've gotten in months... I was heavily considering Redemption, but I figured that it's been so long since I've played a good horror game (it's been years since a good one has even come out). It doesn't disappoint at all. Great game, although a lot of it is psychological. There's something incredibly eerie about Roy Orbison's "In Dreams" playing in it, as well.

Did you not like Redemption? I've heard nothing but good things about it, although to tell the truth I don't really care for Grand Theft Auto.

oh man, "in dreams" is one of my favorite orbison tunes...

red dead redemption is alright... like most sandbox games i got about 3/4 of the way through the story and realized i was bored to death.
i actually prefer GTA and saint's row, since just screwing around and invoking chaos in those games was really fun, whereas in RDR it's just not.

Yeah, although I can't think of many good Western games (I remember playing one like five years ago, can't remember the name of it), so at least it's got that going for it. Come to think of it, I wonder why there are so few Western games.

yeah, it's a cool setting and they do a good job with the atmosphere in the game...

i just hope future entries are more fun and less tedious. i know a lot of folks really dig all the awful mini-games, but when it comes to actual good gameplay i've found very little and the online play (the main reason i purchased it) was terrible.

One thing that really annoyed me in GTA was the combat system. Definitely felt harder than it had to be. That doesn't include the hand-to-hand fighting, which is just downright ridiculous. Seems like the main draw of the game was all the stuff you could do, though a lot of it got really boring to me... after about the 10th time taking Roman to the damn comedy club.

Never really been a mini-game lover.

You are not the first person I have seen who has said that
