Stoner post-punk? Having a couple different sides on a record with equal representation isn't a bad thing at all, so long as you pull it off well. Like Jucifer's L'Autrichienne, which whiplashes between a couple very different styles.

I think the closest I could ever get to Post-Punk is if it was a Shoegaze blend, but for that I'd need a bassist. This band currently is a duo, and we're going to use a dual stack set up and loop pedals to make up for the lost sound.
Well, we have one Post-Rock song currently, and another instrumental that can't really be categorized, and 4 or 5 Stoner Metal songs that range from Heavy Metal/Hard Rock-leaning to Doom Metal-leaning. I think we both want to write more Post-Rock though, and I think a Post-Rock/Post-Hardcore mix is going to happen as well, especially with the way I treat dynamics and the way I write lyrics.
Despite all my rage, I'm still just Nicolas Cage
If you haven't already, you can try experimenting with mixing bits and pieces of the different styles together. I'm not a songwriter, though, so I can't offer more meaningful advice.

Rush last night was really good.
Y'all remind me of my grandsons but they like Ice Cube movies so I can't never speak to them again. Excuse me, I'ma get me some Kool-aid.
Haha, that'd be awesome if I could figure that out.
Yeah, I've been really lazy lately, and the last few times I sat down in front of the camera, I didn't really like the end result. I may record some jams tomorrow with my friend. I've been working on a 240BPM Metal Improv thing so that may go up or a video featuring some licks I've been messing with. I haven't really done any covers in ages either.
Cool to hear that though. Hopefully we'll start gigging soon too and I can put up videos of that.
Yeah, that's what I'm working on. I'd love to throw in diminished chords and other dissonant stuff into a Stoner song, I'm working on messing around with feedback within a song and jamming on that, our Delay pedal broke for some reason, so that's kind of on hold for now.

You're no longer a trio?
I personally think that almost schizophrenic records with totally different styles represented track to track can be very fun and interesting, although they usually have to sacrifice flow.
I really need to start writing music again, though unfortunately I'm a bit limited. Usually whatever I write is written on acoustic guitar, though I do have an electric (with no effects), a starter-kit bass and a C-Harmonica at my disposal, so I'm far from helpless.
My biggest problem has always been matching lyrics with chords. Even if I'm totally satisfied with the lyrics (which, being very self-deprecating, is very rare), I can never find the right chords to go with it.
