Yeah, baseball is probably one of the hardest games to play. It's not just hitting a ball getting thrown at you and catching it as many people believe. You have to know signs, situations and what to do in them, and requires a lot of practice to hit a ball going over 80 MPH that is moving all over the place. Baseball may not be as physical as football or basketball, but it's definitely the most mental game in professional sports.
Yeah, I've been playing baseball since I was 8 years old, all through high school but I stopped playing at the college level. Not because I can't play at that level, but because I didn't want to do it anymore. I figured I wasn't getting anywhere with it and I spent so much time doing it, so I gave it up. My grandpa always said, if it's not fun anymore, it's time to stop, so I took his advice.
And speaking of diminished skills, just a few months of not playing anymore, I went into a batting cage a few weeks and struggled just making contact. It's one of those sports you gotta keep at it to stay good.
And palm muting? All's you have to do is move your picking hand onto the strings.
