My favorite way to mute the guitar strings is lifting my fingers slightly from the strings, but of course that doesn't always work so well.

Bob Bradley should warm up his car, because at this rate he'll be fired before stoppage time.

I'm inclined to agree with that, the Kings game i went too was awesome, and ended in a shootout to boot. Still waiting for that stanley cup win...

Baseball may not be as physical as football or basketball, but it's definitely the most mental game in professional sports.

Yeah, I've been playing baseball since I was 8 years old, all through high school but I stopped playing at the college level. Not because I can't play at that level, but because I didn't want to do it anymore. I figured I wasn't getting anywhere with it and I spent so much time doing it, so I gave it up. My grandpa always said, if it's not fun anymore, it's time to stop, so I took his advice.

And speaking of diminished skills, just a few months of not playing anymore, I went into a batting cage a few weeks and struggled just making contact. It's one of those sports you gotta keep at it to stay good.

And palm muting? All's you have to do is move your picking hand onto the strings.
I haven't been to the batting cages in ages, so I would probably do horrible. And about palm muting, whenever I try to do that it just mutes it completely, and it sounds nothing like how it is portrayed in songs that I have heard.

I thought that was basically the correct way to do it...

I don't think I've swung a baseball bat in about two years, and haven't played in an organized league since freshman year of high school.

And as for hockey games, I go to a couple every year. Before the lockout, we had a plan where we got tickets to about a dozen games or so, and playoff tickets (the Islanders actually made it that year). 'Twas a lot of fun.

Try not to have your whole palm on the strings muting them because then it would be too muffled and it'll sound like crap. Try to keep half your palm on the strings and the other half resting on the bridge. This way the strings will still have room to vibrate without your whole palm muffling them.

And palm muting sounds good with a thick distortion, but it also depends on what song you're trying to learn as well.

Mario Tennis dominated the first quarter of my senior year, before we got Mario Kart and, eventually, Super Smash Bros. in our school. I played a mean Shy Guy.
