RO: I can't believe I waited this long to listen to Echo and the Bunnymen, the string arrangements on Ocean Rain are ****ing brilliant.
The Killing Moon is probably my favorite song by them.

I haven't wanted to listen to it since.
I don't why I liked it so much originally, because I couldn't even finish it the second time.

John Darnielle is finally compelling me to learn some guitar.. What are some really easy Mountain Goats songs to pick up for someone who has little to no experience with the instrument?

All of them. No, really, all you need to know are a few chords (easily looked up) and you're good. This may come in handy, if you hadn't chanced upon it already. Just look up some of your favorites, chances are you'll be able to pick a few of them up pretty quickly.
Would you pay for music by Beck?
    Maybe.
What if you heard he owned a plane made of gold?
    Sure.
Good, because he needs the money.

The Best Ever Death Metal Band Out of Denton is really easy, three basic chords in a simple pattern and they aren't too stressing. They have a lot of other easy songs too, but some can be challenging, fast, etc. But TBEDMBOOD(lol) is really manageable.

I figured they were pretty simple to play, but are here any particular ones to begin on, or is that it? Tomorrow morning, I've got to start teaching myself some of the tracks off of Sweden.

That sound like a good place to start. Thank you both very much.

Oh, and Song for Dennis Brown is also ridiculously easy, moreso than Denton, but I prefer to play Denton.

I'll look at that first, then. I really don't have any knowledge of how to play the guitar, other than having experimented a bit with a multi effects pedal. I actually want to hear how some of the songs sound through that, haha.

Well, Tallahassee's a really easy one. It's really slow, too, so you have plenty of time to change chords. That's one of my favorites to play. Old College Try has more chord changes but it's easy to get the hang of. And then there's all the stuff on West Texas, and Coroner's Gambit, and Sweden, and...

I've bookmarked that tabs page. It's great, since it isn't intimidating at all. Of course that doesn't mean that it won't be work, but it's worth it, especially since they're Mountain Goats songs, haha.
