well, since everyone else is posting their stuff, i was ranked 27th at my first high school in my class, and the one i graduated from i was in the 80s in a class of 400 something, i also graduated with a GPA of 3.33, an SAT score of 1710 (only took it once, and no ACT), got scholarships from about a dozen colleges i never applied for, got easily accepted for every college i did apply for, but got forced into Purdue (mostly because my dad likes Purdue and it's in-state and not Ball State (whom would've pretty much taken me for free with scholarships))

being an Eagle Scout and having NHS on your applications helps too

Yeah, and usually they put caps on the number of kids they accept from certain high schools.

Yeah, it's nothing they'll ever own up to, but it's there. Or it's ridiculously coincidental that no more than 2 kids ever get into Harvard or Columbia from my high school.

Also, if you get into NHS, do it like schiz said. Doesn't hurt that it was a huge joke of an extracurricular at my school.
