I can't really describe how much I love the last hundred pages or so of 1984. Without spoiling it, it's probably the most gripping thing I've ever read.
    Part 3 of the novel = <3

RO: I'm really loving Tears for Fears. I don't have a huge amount of new wave experience, but they're one of my favorites so far.

Orwell is one of my favourites as well, 1984 is his crowning glory but Animal Farm is excellent too, I love the concise and imaginative way in which it documents the rise of communism and the manipulation of Marxism by the power-hungry.

Oscar Wilde is probably my favourite writer though. Everything from his children's book to his social satire are drenched in wit.

Orwell's pre-Animal Farm works, while largely ignored, are quite worthy of appraisal too. Keep the Aspidistra Flying is my favorite of them.

Oscar Wilde's great too. I need to read more of him.
Would you pay for music by Beck?
    Maybe.
What if you heard he owned a plane made of gold?
    Sure.
Good, because he needs the money.

My favorite writer is probably H.L. Mencken... one of the great satirists and social critics.
