After listening to 'Drowning the Colossus', I suppose it has some noise rock tendencies... but still meh.

Yeah "tendencies" is a good, mild word. Nice. But no seriously, thumbs up for actually listening to a track. Maybe we can judge a band's genre for a particular album after we listen to it, or maybe that's just me.

It could be called "Listen to possibly sucky albums".

Multitasking and all, just saw Soul Crusher and noise rock and hit my head on the wall and stuff. Still, makes me dislike White Zombie even more since their noise rock is 200x better than their groove-thrash...

The different between noise-pop and noise-rock is apparent via title, but the different between noise-pop and shoegaze can be pretty transparent in some bands' cases.

I think you're in the clear so long as you're not mistaking a band like Silversun Pickups for noise-pop or Animal Collective for noise-rock.

Yeah, those are pretty easy, it's mostly shoegaze vs. noise pop/rock (more so pop, though.) Thanks.
