I'm about half way through Notorious B.I.G.'s Ready To Die, and it never ceases to amaze me how much more violence in hip hop bothers me than in metal/hardcore/etc. I generally don't care about violent metal lyrics, but it just seems so much more real in hip hop lyrics :s still a damn good album, but yeah, just thought I'd throw this out there.

People (Gowie) will say I'm entry-level or soft or w/e when it comes to Hip-Hop, but ya.
I hate the usual hardcore gangsta etc in hip-hop...id rather more chilled out stuff...like Lupe Fiasco/Andre 3000, K-Os sorta stuff

That's typically my style too, but Lameboy was a tad persistent as I said, it's pretty good, I just can't see myself listening to it regularly solely because of the lyrical content.

RS: I think "Martha My Dear" might be my favorite song from the White Album now, or at least it's now tied with My Guitar. It usually passed over my head durign my first handful listens, but it's really a special track.

RO that is also a UO: White Album doesn't really do it for me.

Yeah, both of you are soft entry levels if you can't take great blunt, brash social commentary in teh hippity hopz. Though there's plenty of great stuff that doesn't focus on that. But I guess not everyone can like the more blunt political hip-hop and the hardcore hip-hop.

I have no problem with the entry level label, and maybe it'll grow on me! But as it stands now, Notorious BIG is a bit too much

Then stay clear of the 'gagsta rap' and 'hardcore hip-hop' recommendations and frequent my hip-hop thread more.
