Details are really light at the moment, but I imagine it's connected to his strokes a few years ago.

I mean, look at it. GNR and JA in the top 5, let alone being there at all. Dream Theater in the top 10. Tool, Pantera and Manson coming in before Maiden. No Sabbath. Slipknot in the top 50. And I love Type O(probably an UO here) and wouldn't have a problem with Bloody Kisses or maybe something after coming in fairly high, but there's no way their first album, which sucked then and doesn't hold a candle to anything since, should be number ****ing one. No way.

This has got to be a joke.
I know this is an older post, but I'd like to point out I really dislike Scaruffi and his heavily biased account of music history.

I know most articles on this site are ridiculous, but this one had me shaking my head. So ignorant.

Well, I don't think the digital age has done wonders for the music business (I would italicize it if I knew how on this site...), per se, but it's certainly revolutionized music distribution.

I honestly do really, really dislike the itunes music store, so I can understand the hate for that specifically. If we're talking about MP3's in general, though, the same way the average person has thousands more times the general knowledge readily available to them than they would have had only just over a decade ago, music enthusiasts can hear so much more than they would have been able to in the 80's... unless said music enthusiasts had lots of friends and some good tape recorders.

Atheist and Morbid Angel hitting RBN is awesome news to say the least. Granted it's new Atheist which I didn't like much, but hopefully leads to some older material down the road. No details on Morbid Angel yet.

That is great news... I probably wouldn't have caught that until they hit the store.

Indeed, here's the post if anybody's curious/wants to follow that thread:

Sweet! It kinda stinks that the RBN is the only way these bands would ever get into the game but I'll take 'em anyway I can get 'em.

I agree, I don't think it's wrong to say that it's somewhat insulting that they have to get in the game through RBN. But at the same time, I never thought I'd see any of my favorite Death Metal bands in the game, so it's a very pleasant surprise.
