I find "I like all types of music but Country" a more common response.
It's too bad both get such bad exposure nowadays... I think current popular rap is a wonderful way to kill brain cells.

Yeah, I just looked at that schedule. Didn't look like there was anything particularly interesting. Maybe if I'm bored one of the days there's a concert I'll think about going, but I'm not marking my calendar now. Yeah, actually, the Celebrate Brooklyn! thing hasn't even announced its full schedule and I'm already more interested in that.
Yeah, I hear that a lot when it comes to people talking about their music tastes, although something like "oh, and that metal with growling in it" as a last added thought.
i just tell people "i like good music"
and usually looking very death or black metal in my attire and when asked what my favorite band is ill hit them with "probably deep purple, dunno" and the confused look on their face
