Go with Beyond, Bug, Farm, and You're Living All Over Me. If you don't have a problem with noisier stuff, try Dinosaur at some point. It's their most abrasive album, but very much worth listening to.

OK, I'll give 'em a shot soon enough.

Oh yeah, and back on the topic of Sonic Youth, I stumbled on this cover by them of Within You Without You. Generally I don't like Beatles covers too much, but they pulled that one off great.

I thought we left SY alone yesterday...

I finished my listen again, and I think.... I get it now. I did a track by track review as I went, and I think it made me listen harder, and I can sort of appreciate the music and complexity a lot better. I still don't think it would be something I'd listen to all the time, or that I'd revel in every time I hear it, but I will admit, it's a very fine album overall.

    Side one
    1. "Teen Age Riot" 10/10
    2. "Silver Rocket" 8/10
    3. "The Sprawl” 9/10
    Side two
    4. "'Cross the Breeze" 8.5/10
    5. "Eric's Trip” 9.5/10
    6. "Total Trash" 7.5/10
    Side three
    7. "Hey Joni" 9/10
    8. "Providence" 9/10
    9. "Candle" 8.5/10
    10. “Rain King” 8/10
    Side four
    11. "Kissability 9/10
    12. Trilogy: 8.5/10 (overall)
    A) "The Wonder" 9/10
    B) "Hyperstation" 8/10
    Z) "Eliminator Jr." 8/10

Overall: most likely 9 or 9.5/10

Now I'm starting to get why people love it so much.

Meh, I wasn't huge on it. The chorus was good, but I wasn't a big fan of the vocals in general, and the noisy breakdown carried on a little long for my tastes.

I'm more disturbed by the fact that Eliminator Jr. doesn't have the rating of boner.

I like them, just don't find them particularly great.

The Sprawl should've been rated Ω
