This is the best one out of the ones I visit, believe it or not.

i do believe it. The other ones i post on, I can really only post about one or two genres of music and get outed as a *** if i try to talk about anything else.

Unfortunately, these forums move at the pace of snail's constipated bowel movement. I blame back_blows.


kind of related, one of the forums that i've been an active member on for 11 years had a massive blowup with the webmaster and the whole ****er got shut down, so we all moved on to a new site that has fewer rules/restrictions/filters/bans. It's fine and all, but there's maybe about 75 active members on there now and and it's still 100% more active than HOR. And it's a forum comprised mostly of wannabe rappers and terrible bedroom producers. But there's still some people there who are open to lots of music, but for the majority of my time there i don't often bring up synth-pop or girl-group music. unless i'm talking about beef injecting Posh Spice.

I hear you; though at this point I am only involved in one or two other music boards as I pretty much don't visit places like /mu/ anymore for obvious reasons. The forum I basically "grew" my knowledge from between 2005 and 2008 was pretty damn terrible now that I think about it. The regulars weren't like the ones here and there was always this animosity there. Like the regulars tolerated each other so together they could collectively make the ignorant foolish masses cry to sleep that individual night they decided "Hey, I'm going to post in the music forum!".

Small cliques, small discussions amongst one another and never true respect for each others taste. I mean how many of us are clones of each other and how much sneering do we do? It's a different ballpark for HOR, I actually feel like I'm talking to adults most of the time.

I agree with that this is one of the most mature music forums I've been too, you guys have helped me become more mature not only with music but in life as well. The only other place that was halfway decent that I tried other than /mu/ was makeoutclub, but even then it was mostly talking about Sunny Day Real Estate and how "different" they were as opposed to finding new music.

we have lost a lot of the main components of this place after the new site went up, (A_C, back_blows, OCB etc.) which took a dip at activity and conversation. Us staying active is helping this forum by life support, but if it's gonna thrive then we're gonna need some of the regulars back or some new guys who already know their ****.

You missed out on a lot of fun.

More realistically, I think that the forums (and HoR in particular, I suppose) are going to start thriving again, we'll need some regulars to return and/or new people to come in, like Lameboy said. Unfortunately, that may not happen.
