The punchline to this is that the people saying this turn around and say, "Well, who cares who got in, the whole thing's a sham these days anyway," AFTER induction time.

ugh. When people ask what kind of Pop Punk I listen to their always like "do you like New Found Glory or the Wonder Years?" **** that ****.

the only band that I enjoy from that "scene" is Title Fight, and even then they are okay at best.

Joyce Manor as well, but they play shows with kickass emo bands and sound like Jawbreaker 2.0 so they're way cooler than any modern pop punk act already

That being said, Rush has been eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame since 1999... considering the inductees since then, they should've been in by now and making the comparison with more recent bands a moot point.

okay that's true I mean there are some that have no business being there (I'm looking at you RHCP)

and I know it's wishful thinking that the 3 bands I want in will actually get in (aside from The Cure which seems viable )

Hoping The Cure's inevitable induction into the HoF means Bauhaus, Joy Division, and Depeche Mode will get in next year. They all deserve it.

I've heard some people jokingly call post-punk "the prog of the 80s", but there may be some truth to that with how the R&RHoF treats both, heh.
