I just discovered them recently also. Pretty great stuff. Selling England by the Pound is an outstanding album.

You should definitely take a long at all their albums between Trespass and Wind & Wuthering. That's when they were Prog at least, and they are all great albums. Afterwards they went on a much more Pop Rock route.
    RB Wishlist:
    Candlemass
    Cream
    Genesis
    Hüsker Dü
    King Crimson
    Kyuss
    Led Zeppelin
    Ne Obliviscaris
    Pink Floyd
    Porcupine Tree
    Type O Negative

In particular look into the output from 1971-74... all of it (Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound, and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway) being excellent.

I'm currently sampling the latter three of those. So far, they're superb, especially Supper's Ready.

All Gabriel era I see. While I definietly prefer the time he fronted the band, I also think that A Trick of the Tail still falls under the top tier along with all of those albums.

I enjoy the Phil Collins era somewhat too. I just wouldn't consider it prog by any means. Still decent music though.

Even the Collins era had some occasionally proggy moments, but yeah, that went more in the direction of pop-rock more often than not.

The song "Turn It On Again" is some very catchy crossover prog, though.

A Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering are 100% Prog. ...And There Were Three... is when the band went down their poppier route.
