Bands I'd love to see as DLC for Rock Band:
Bal Sagoth
Lolita, I like the electronic effect on her voice and hope she uses it more in future work.
It's just a matter of if I'm still going to enjoy it months down the road. For the time being, I'm sweatin' it.

Definitely one of the most underrated frontwomen in rock history.

Devo - "Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA"
Ok, totally got pissed off today at my dad. The radio mentioned something about the grammys being on and i just said that i hate the grammys since they are all based on sales. He said they base them on sales because that's a "hard statistic" to use to measure what is good and what is not. I then told him no, that sales are perpetuated by record labels and advertising, that the labels get their artists more radio airplay, plus ad spots, movie soundtracks, and other advertising because of the band's marketability. That instead of "best album" or other awards possibly going to the artist most deserving based on a poll of unbiased voters and critics and whatnot that they could possibly have, it is based on sales, which are a horribly biased statistic. I then used Joe Bonamassa as an example since we both enjoy him. I told him that his sales are nothing compared to a top 40 artist and he doesn't sell out massive venues on tours because he is not a major label headlining artist. He then retorted that he sells out 3,000 seat venues all the time, when I'm actually talking about 30,000 seat stadiums. He then says that no one sells out large venues like that. I then rattled off several large artists who do (some i like, some i despise) and included the rolling stones. My dad said they sell out large venures because people like them, where i said that no, they sell out large stadiums because of marketing 50 years ago and now it's all just sustainability (let's face it, they're all gonna die soon). I went on to start an argument about the Beatles being the same way, when he noticed he had lost the argument and tried to call me a hypocrite because i hate that the college football ranking system is based on coaches' opinions and not on record. He says that i can't hate that one is based on opinion and the other is not, when not only is a record objective and music subjective, but that it is an entirely different type of argument. At this point he noticed he was completely failing at his side of the argument and did his usual "let's throw a tantrum and yell a lot about how I always want to argue and that he doesn't care" (if he really didn't care then he wouldn't have started arguing with me in the first place).
the tl;dr version: people are stupid
Man, those first two Girls releases were so so so so good.
Why did Father, Son, Holy Ghost have to be so average and only have 3 great songs?
Not removing this until we get some Sunn O)))
in which case this will be on for a while.
Listened to some Trollech. Not bad, darkwinterbeast, I'll have to explore these guys further.
