I think that there's a good chance that it could pass in California next. I've already heard some speculation that it might return to the ballot in 2014 or 2016. It was a very narrow margin that it didn't pass by in 2010, and support seems to always be growing so I think it has a fair shot.

RO: Robin Guthrie is seriously one of the most underrated guitarists of all-time.

I read the title, so I said "Ok."

There need to be more chicken farms in the world. You can't go wrong with chickens.
I'll take it Genesis, ELO, Pink Floyd, Metallica, and Journey are out of the question...?

As long as we're talking free range and not cage farms.

random: this new RB page layout is kinda annoying, particularly how they removed the thread indexes. liked being able to just click on the previous forum link to go back to your last main page.

RO: I'm vegetarian. I don't agree with the chicken farms claim.

RO: I went to an independant videogame "expo" yesterday and it was very interesting, but there really is a huge problem with gender distribution. There were so few women, and even in this kind of "underground" event, you'd hear guys saying stuff like "We're loosing because I'm playing with a girl". The games themselves are not very varied and are a direct product of lack of versatility in the creators and consummers. Most of them focus on competition and that can be very intimidating for newcommers. (I'm actually just regurgitating Anna Anthropy's book "Rise of the Videogame Zinesters".)
It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

Indie games really aren't much different than the modern, mainstream gaming business. The former just coats those similarities in a layer of quirk and DIY.

I used to be really into gaming, but with the FPS and casual game-heavy market overflow sometime in the mid/late 2000s, not so much anymore. It's weird...I actually think RPGs (IMO, the most superior game genre) were more advanced, technically and creatively, in the 90s and early 2000s. Just look at the Baldur's Gate series.
