I've been a fan of the Saw series since seeing the first one on DVD. The first movie created this dark world that I have been immersed in since then. I know there are a lot of individuals that think that the series is "torture porn" which I have to say no it's not. Hostel is torture porn. Saw has a story behind it and there are motives behind the reason for the "contests" to be involved in their games. The fact that all of these films have been connected by the story also shows to me the creators do care about this series and know they have faithful fans that want more pieces to the puzzle (no pun intended). However, last year's Saw V was the worst entry in the series yet with the horrible story arc in place and really lazy approach. I was thinking that the end was near for the series and the best of this series was behind us. But Saw VI shows that there is still life in the series. The movie brought back the things that made the series great: a good story, a true twist that actually made sense, and of course the traps that were inventive and showed us the true meaning of sacrifice. I know that VI was suppose to be it for the series but the decided to go on with VII and VIII the next two years (supposedly ending it in 2011 with Saw VIII). Saw VII has a lot to live up to with the great film Saw VI was. The director from Saw VI should come back, not the hack that made Saw V who is coming back for VII. That and the fact VII is going to be in 3-D which really pisses me off. But let's just focus on what we have this year. If you still want to like the series and Saw V left you disappointed, have faith and see Saw VI as it packs a real punch.

I think basically the move to 3-D is to try to dissuade movie pirates and also it brings something new to the table to grab people's attention since there are so many Saw that I've lost count. The first one is the best, but too many is too much.

Just saw Where the Wild Things are.

    9.5/10.

Sure I'm a tad biased because Spike Jonze is my favourite director and I think he's a bloody genius, but still. Hot damn. Best movie of the year until maybe when The Road comes out.
    sauced.

Anyways, I just got back from seeing Where the Wild Things Are.

    9.5/10

Spike Jonze is a bloody genius, I'd say movie of the year maybe, I'd need to see The Road first before I can come to that conclusion.

the novel is better than most actual books I've read, which is both sad and amazing.

I can't wait to see The Road and hope it comes close to being as good as the book.

The Proposal--great cast, great plot, but it was a romantic comedy, and we all know how those end. 8/10.
    It's all good.
