The humor was great, but at times it felt a little too forced. I totally could imagine one of those cue cards for the audience to "laugh here" while watching the movie.

Humor isn't a bad thing, but I personally thought that The Avengers ALMOST overdid it. It was close, but managed to keep it classy.

The humour was great from everyone except Iron Man who wouldn't shut up until someone on the ship died.

Yeah, it wasn't forced at all. Typical comic book affair of comedy. It was fun.

That's the problem. They're COMIC BOOK movies. The source material is corny.

I mean, come on, "I'm always angry."? That's pure GOLD from Whedon, working his knowledge of the source material. He knows the characters have never been stoic blockbuster badasses, and he doesn't treat them as such.
I don't remember saying all of the jokes were corny. The "I'm always angry" line was perfect, as were many others. Not only was it a good laugh line, but it was also a great character moment.

The best example of a flat joke would be Loki's "I'm listening" line. There were only a few in there, really.

Every thing Tony Stark said was a joke... or, at least, it felt that way. Many were great, some weren't, though I do feel it made him a bit more real character, in that some of his jokes were inevitably bad. Actually, the thing I hate about sitcoms is the fact it's often far too obvious that the characters have writers.

Pretty much agree with this. Almost forced, but not quite... again, the "I'm listening" line was the prime offender.

I just saw the Avengers, that was a very well executed entertainment movie, it did everything I hoped it would do. It's not great cinema, but it's ****ing exciting.
It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

    Avengers was fantastic.

Doing my best to keep this spoiler-lessly vague.

The only scene that felt really forced to me was the scene with Coulson telling Rogers about the trading cards, but that had some plot relevance, so I felt that was okay. The lab scene involving the scepter also became a little grating before it concluded.

I enjoyed the "I'm listening" moment, personally. It seemed very fitting for Loki that he would just sit back and enjoy the spectacle there.

    Friend?

Although personally, I would rate "Dogma" higher than "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back".
May 20th, 2012: 4 long years since HMX released "Hysteria" by Muse. The wait for more Muse DLC has to end at some point, right?
